Struggling Swindon face Cardiff in a must win game for the hosts

By Billy Stephenson

10th placed Cardiff Ladies will be making the trip to bottom of the league Swindon Town Ladies Tuesday night in a hope to bounce back after two straight defeats.

Swindon are currently without a win this season losing all of their games so far, including a 3-0 defeat last time out against Essex based C&K Basildon. Cardiff found rough sledding against the Essex side, losing 5-0 in their tie against Basildon.

Michele Adams, who is Chairwomen of Cardiff Ladies spoke exclusively to Yorkshire Voice: “Manager Gary Green has been focusing these last few days about what went wrong last game and hopefully they have the mentality to bounce back in tonight’s game.”

Last time the two teams played each other was back in September where Cardiff picked up all three points in a 4-1 win at the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence. Two goals from Captain Cori Williams and the other two from Laura Williams and Ffion Price saw The Bluebirds pick up three points that day.

There are no injuries going into the fixture tonight for Cardiff so a fully fit squad is looking likely to travel to struggling Swindon.

Next Sunday Swindon will be hosts to Lewes Women whereas Cardiff will travel to seventh place Chichester City Ladies.
