Nottingham Forest keen to recover from disappointing defeat

Championship: Nottingham Forest v Cardiff

By Declan Campbell

Nottingham Forest are looking to recover from an away defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers in midweek, who pushed themselves out of the relegation zone via Sam Gallagher’s first half brace.

Phillipe Montanier will be looking to kick-start Forest’s season with a win over a team playing with a new found confidence.

Cardiff City are under new management as Paul Trollope was sacked just 12 games into the season after just two victories. Cardiff already look a rejuvenated side under Neil Warnock, beating Bristol City in Warnock’s debut match and followed up that result with a good point midweek against promotion challenging Sheffield Wednesday.

Nottingham Forest will be without electric full-back Hildeberto Pereira who saw red in the dying moments of Forest’s mid-week defeat. Matthew Mills will also be unavailable due to suspension. David Vaughan, Mustapha Carayolwi and Nicklas Bendtner will also be watching from the side line with various injuries.

Forest captain Chris Cohen was speaking to the club’s website after their defeat to Blackburn and said: “If we can put a few results together then we can climb the league table quickly. Talk is cheap though and we need to do it now.”

Cardiff City on the other hand have no fresh injury news with Anthony Pilkington and Stuart 0’Keefe both pushing for starts on their returns from injury.

Neil Warnock seems to be settling in well at his new club as he told Cardiff City’s club website: “They’ve been super since I’ve been here and they’ve listened to what we want. As long as they give me everything, that’s all I can expect.”
