Lincoln City keen to continue good recent home form

By Dominic Medcalf

Cambridge United travel to Sincil Bank to play newly-promoted Lincoln City. The Imps will be looking to continue their good run of form, picking up seven points from the last three games, with back to back home wins.

The U’s have struggled on the road this season. The last time they gained any points away was on September 12, and they have only accumulated six points from the beginning of the season away from home.

Cambridge manager Shaun Derry said: “They have done well for a number of months and I feel that this weekend it’s about us. I look at Mansfield Town, Swindon and Wycombe last weekend and they have a similar style so our players should know what to expect.”

Captain Leon Legge will be unavailable for Cambridge after he picked up two yellow cards last weekend in the 3-1 loss to Wycombe.

For the Imps key defender Sean Ragget is not eligible to play after getting five yellow cards since the start of the season, meaning he will serve a one match ban. This will suit Uche Ikpeazu, who has netted five goals for the season.

Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley praised Cambridge United in his pre-match press conference: “They’ve got a really good business model off the pitch, in terms of the community work they do and their academy. They also have a really strong recruitment strategy.
