Leeds University Union launches campaign for kits for students to test safety of drugs

Leeds University Union (LUU) has launched its “Say Yes to the Test” campaign this week to make drug testing kits available to students.

LUU welfare officer, Amy Wells, said LUU is lobbying the university to take a harm reduction approach through informative leaflets, support groups and testing kits.

In 2018, 88% of Leeds students who take drugs said they would test them if they had kits.

While LUU does not condemn or condone drug use, Amy said it does recognise that a large portion of Leeds students take drugs.
