A West Yorkshire airport is flying high as it is set to benefit from this year’s budget announcement.
Leeds-Bradford Airport, among other regional airports around the country, will be given more money after a £20m Regional Air Connectivity Fund was announced by the Chancellor in yesterday’s budget.
The fund will ensure that long-haul flights carry the same tax as a flight to the US.
It is hoped that the new funding with help attract more airlines and introduce longer-haul flights.
Last year, 3.3m passengers travelled to and from Leeds Bradford Airport.
