A community arts festival in Horsforth is looking for artists and venue holders to sign up for this year’s event.
Horsforth Walk of Art will be held on 6-7 July and will showcase art, activities and workshops in different locations across the town.
The event is free and organisers are looking for a variety of artists, from painters, sculptures and street artists, to poets and musicians.
Kezia Roberts, the lead organiser, urged anyone with an interest in art or the space to hold an activity to sign up.
She said: “We need anything and everything!
“People can free up their garages, we’ve had caravans or the backs of trailers in the past – I’ve even hosted artists in my conservatory.
“As for artists, we are promoting this to anybody of any level.
“If you feel like you are just starting out and want to showcase your art, then we’ll embrace that and help you find a venue.”
The festival works closely with local schools to provide activities for children – this year’s theme is ‘under the sea’.
Artists are invited into schools to teach their craft and during the festival local businesses will display artwork made by the different schools.
Kezia said: “Even if you’re not artistic, you can still get to know your neighbours by having a venue or showing your craft in another way.
“It’s lovely having that opportunity to walk around and see like-minded people, and to get to know people outside of your normal working environment.
“There is a huge undercurrent of community spirit across Horsforth which is lovely to be a part of.”
The deadline for applications is 31 March.
