Horsforth Business Reacts as Rishi Sunak Grilled Over Eat Out to Help Out at Covid Inquiry

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been questioned by the Covid Inquiry.

As Chancellor of the Exchequer during the pandemic, he was responsible for the economic recovery and introduced the Eat Out to Help Out scheme in August 2020.

The aim was to give a boost to hospitality by subsidising some of the cost of food eaten in cafes and restaurants, allowing meals to be sold at a discount.

He’s since faced claims that the scheme fuelled the spread of coronavirus.

A local restaurant owner has mixed views on it.
