Championship: Fulham v Norwich City:
By Matty Ramage
Fulham will be aiming to win two games in a row when they host league leaders Norwich. Before their impressive 4-2 away win against Barnsley at the weekend, Fulham hadn’t won in six attempts.
The 27 year-old midfielder Kevin McDonald has finished serving a three-game suspension and is likely to feature at some point for Fulham while Thomas Kalas and Floyd Ayite are doubts.
Sone Aluko, the scorer of Fulham’s second goal at the weekend, has called on the players to work even harder at home this year. Aluko told the official Fulham website: “Our home form is going to be massive, it has to be massive in this league if you want challenge at the top, you need to be solid at home.”
Winger Tom Cairney could be crucial for Fulham as he has created 30 chances from open play this season, more than any other player in the Championship.
Fulham’s home form is proving to be a problem and Fulham haven’t won at home since their opening game of the season when they beat Newcastle 1-0. Norwich will also be feeling the pressure as anything less than a win could see them drop to third.
Fulham’s defence will be under pressure from one of the most efficient attacking outfits in the league. In-form Norwich striker Cameron Jerome will be hoping to add to his six league goals this season, only three players have scored more than him in the championship this season. While 21 year old teammate Jacob Murphy is just behind with five goals so far.
