He joins Millwall on a 18-month contract after 10 years at Sheff Wed

He has made over 470 appearances for the owls, with 428 in the league. This is a huge deal for Bannan and his football career.
He also played for Scotland, at an international level, having 27 caps.
Steve Gallen said, “he has been an outstanding player for Sheffield Wednesday and one of the best players in the championship for a number of years.”
Gallen added that “he is bright, sharp, intelligent and has great awareness, one of the things I like about him the most is adaptability; he can play in a number of positions, something that Alex and I have spoken about on a number of occasions”.
“He also brings big-game experience, which will hopefully help us between now and the end of the season. I’m delighted to bring a very good football player into the club.” The Millwall director added.”
Speaking to the Sheffield Wednesday YouTube channel, he bids farewell to Wednesday in an emotional goodbye.
“The best years of my life so far has been in this city and was always planning to give something back and also it’s nice to be so popular In the city.”
He goes on to tell us, that he wanted to give back to the city, so he wanted to become a role model for younger players, as he feels Sheffield is his second home.
He felt like becoming the ambassador for the children’s hospital, was a massive part of his experience and he mentioned he made friends for life and is going to continue to do this in the future.
Bannan began his career at Aston villa and spent time at crystal palace before joining the owls in the summer of 2015, becomes Millwall’s first signing first signing of the January window.
He was given a standing ovation by fans of both teams during his final match for the club, unfortunately a 2-0 defeat to Bristol city.
Bannan is set to start for Millwall against Sheffield united this Saturday, for an 18- month deal.
