Young talent will blossom around Leeds City Centre after a competition was launched for children to design their own flowerbeds.

As part of Leeds in Bloom,  children aged 4-16 years old will design a bed to compete for the top of the crops.

The six winners will see their designs planted in the town centre as well as receiving a prize and a certificate from the Lord Mayor of Leeds.

Councillor Mark Dobson said: “This a great opportunity for our young people to showcase their skills by designing a flowerbed or edible flowerbed.”
