Man arrested in connection with thefts from LGI cancer ward

A 37-year-old Keighley man was arrested last night as part of the investigation into the theft of computing and DVD equipment from a cancer ward at Leeds General Infirmary.

The equipment was stolen earlier this month from the pavilion, an area of the children’s cancer ward run by the Candlelighters charity which provides rest and relaxation for patients.

Dramatic video urges public to be careful around Yorkshire reservoirs this summer

Yorkshire Water have teamed up with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to produce a chilling video on the dangers of swimming in reservoirs this summer.

In the last five years, WYFRS have been called out to around 346 water rescue incidents – 20 of which resulted in deaths.
