Police are investigating an attempted robbery on a corner shop in Horsforth last night.
Two masked men armed with knives entered Pinna Stores on the corner of Springfield Avenue and Low Lane fell at about 8.45pm last night (Wednesday).
A police officer at the scene told Yorkshire Voice that they had fled in an unknown direction and the police helicopter had been deployed.
The men demanded the female shop assistant empty the till, but when she refused the suspects ran.
Police are appealing for witnesses, and said there is nothing to suggest at this stage the incident is linked with a robbery in Hawsworth on Monday night.
