Blackburn battling to get out of the relegation zone

Blackburn Rovers host Nottingham Forest as the Lancashire side battle to get out of the relegation zone after a terrible start to the season, having lost their last three games. Draws have been the constant between these two clubs, with the last three occasions ending all square.

Rovers defender Elliott Ward is out with an ankle injury. Matters are made worse by Gordon Greer and Corry Evans also being held out of action for the one-time Premier League winners.

Blackburn hasn’t won since mid-September and their previous match against Ipswich Town didn’t end their winless streak, ending in a 0-0 draw.

Speaking before the match, manager Owen Coyle said to Rovers.co.uk: “We have got to go an earn them, Nottingham Forest are not coming to gift you the three points, we are going to have to work our socks off to go and earn those points”

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest enter this match on a high, having won their last game against Birmingham City, 3-1. Nottingham will be forced to fight a recent trend in this match away City Ground, having lost four out of their six away games this season.
