This Wednesday evening, Morocco kick off their AFCON campaign against Tanzania at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in Ivory Coast as both countries will by aiming for the best start possible when they face off at 5pm.
Morocco are heading into this tournament as one of the favourites to win the competition because they became the first ever African side to reach a World Cup semi-final in 2022, so Tanzania will be able to play with no pressure.
However, Morocco have only ever won AFCON way back in 1976 but this year feels like they could do it with this current crop of players include the likes of Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui.
In terms of head-to-head games, Morocco come out on top as they have beaten Tanzania three times compared to Tanzania’s one victory.
But as for team news, Morocco have some injuries to deal with as their star man Mazraoui is a doubt after picking up an injury so Alliat Allah will replace at left-back.
Whereas for Tanzania, they currently have no injury problems to deal with meaning they will be raring to go this week.
