Wednesday night sees the clash of two giants of English football as Newcastle host Man City in the 3rd Round of the League Cup.
Newcastle come off the back of an 8-0 win away at Sheffield United and Man City with a 2-0-win against Nottingham Forest at home. The two sides have already faced each other this season in 1-0 win to City at the Etihad in August.

The two sides are both wanting to challenge for silverware. After Sunday’s game Eddie Howe touched on the performance, which give the Newcastle fans a glimpse of what’s to come.
When speaking to the Newcastle club media, Howe said: “You can see confidence really returning to all the players after we’ve scored a few goals and the game was over and hopefully we haven’t used them up in one game hopefully they’ll be more to come.”
“For in the moment we’re concentrating on trying to give the best performance we can to the people that come and watch us play support us and we want to make them proud”.
It’s going to be a competitive game between the two sides they’re both on top form. In the last couple of meetings between the two sides Man City have dominated the fixture winning eight times out of nine only drawing one in August 2022.
