Déjà vu for the Owls and the Pitmen’s.

By Ethan Ames

Marcus Newell’s Cleethorpes Town face Hednesford Town on Wednesday after a 1-1 settlement in their previous outcome forced a replay in the FA trophy.

A goal from Joey Butlin in the 35th minute gave The Pitmen’s the lead at the half until a controversial second half penalty from Danny North.

Currently sitting 3rd in their division, the Owls will look to get back to winning ways with the winner of the competition facing Spennymoor Town at home on the 25th of November.

The Northeast Lincolnshire team will be looking at their players who are returning to make an impact for their clash with midfielder Alex Flett set to return after serving his suspension for their previous game.

After only losing 2 fixtures out of their previous 12 outings, Hednesford Town will be looking match their recent form going into this replay with the possibility of progressing through.

The London based team currently sit 16th in the table and will be looking for top goal scorer Danny Glover to add to his goal tally in their next outing.

Hednesford manager Rob Smith, spoke on their website about their cup progression and want to replicate that form in the league.

“Whilst we have been doing well in the Cups, I really want us to get some consistency in the league, there is still a very long way to go and a run of wins would see us challenge for play-off positions, but we must do this soon.”
